Q3 2025 Nucor Corp Earnings Call Transcript
Key Points
- Nucor Corp (NUE) exceeded its third-quarter guidance with an EBITDA of approximately $1.3 billion and EPS of $2.63, driven by stronger-than-expected shipments and favorable corporate adjustments.
- The company reinvested $807 million into growth projects nearing completion and returned approximately $230 million to shareholders through dividends and share buybacks.
- Nucor Corp (NUE) received a credit rating upgrade to A3 by Moody's, making it the only major North American steel producer with such a distinction.
- The company is in the final phase of a multiyear capital investment campaign, with four major projects set to complete by the end of the year, enhancing its production capabilities.
- Nucor Corp (NUE) is well-positioned in high-growth markets like data center construction, supplying over 95% of all steel products used in data centers, and benefiting from federal trade policies supporting the American steel industry.
- Nucor Corp (NUE) expects consolidated earnings to be lower in the fourth quarter due to seasonal effects, fewer shipping days, and scheduled outages at DRI facilities.
- The company anticipates a decline in realized pricing within its steel mills segment, primarily driven by sheet products.
- Operating profit in the steel products segment was impacted by less favorable product mix, higher substrate pricing, and planned outage costs.
- Nucor Corp (NUE) decided not to pursue a new rebar micro mill project in the Pacific Northwest, opting to serve the region from existing facilities, which may limit regional growth opportunities.
- The company is closely monitoring the impact of evolving trade policies, higher construction costs, and persistent softness in residential construction activity, which could affect future demand.
