Half Year 2026 Fagron NV Earnings Call Transcript
Key Points
- Fagron SA (ARSUF) reported strong H1 2026 results with revenues reaching EUR552 million, reflecting 3.1% organic growth at CER, and adjusted EBITDA growing 12.7% to EUR107 million.
- The company completed five acquisitions in 2026, including Amber in Asia and Purifarma and Vepakum in Latin America, with all acquisitions performing as expected or better and contributing EUR69 million to revenues.
- EMEA and Latin America delivered solid organic growth of 4.1% and 8% at CER, respectively, with margin expansion of 30 and 120 basis points, driven by operational excellence and integration synergies.
- The company is well-positioned for future growth with capacity expansion projects on track, including a new 503A facility in Tampa with $100 million revenue potential and 503B facilities in Wichita and Las Vegas with combined $315 million revenue potential.
- The PCAC recommendation to include six peptides in the 503A Bulks list is seen as a tailwind, and Fagron's existing infrastructure and track record position it to capture this opportunity.
- Operating cash flow improved by 10.8% year-on-year to EUR58.1 million, demonstrating strong cash generation capabilities.
- The company reiterated its full-year guidance of mid- to high-single-digit organic growth and an adjusted EBITDA margin of around 20%, with confidence in a stronger second half.
- New leadership appointments, including Amy Jones for North America Pacific and Kenneth Bonnell as Global Head of Quality, bring extensive experience to support growth and quality initiatives.
- North America Pacific revenue was largely flat with 0.2% organic growth at CER, impacted by the normalization of GLP-1-related revenues and an industry-wide IV bag recall, leading to a temporary margin decline.
- Gross margin decreased by 218 basis points year-on-year, driven by acquisitions and a change in product mix in North America Pacific.
- Net debt increased significantly to EUR505.4 million, with net debt to EBITDA rising to 2.1 times, largely due to acquisition payments, though still below the internal threshold of 2.8 times.
- The IV bag availability issue is expected to persist into Q3, with a gradual recovery in compounding services activity only expected to accelerate in Q4, impacting near-term growth.
- Free cash flow conversion was below guidance at 40.9% when adjusting for one-off CapEx, due to higher working capital from acquisitions and inventory buildup.
- The company faces potential headwinds from raw material price increases, particularly oil-derived items, and geopolitical turmoil in the Middle East, though it has the ability to pass on price increases.
- The integration of acquisitions, such as Pharmavit, is dilutive to margins in the short term, with synergies expected to materialize over an 18-24 month period.
- The timing of peptide market opportunities is uncertain, with revenue potential only expected 6-18 months after FDA inclusion, which is not guaranteed.
