GuruFocus Profitability Rank ranks how profitable a company is and how likely the company’s business will stay that way. It is based on these factors:

1. Operating Margin
2. Trend of the Operating Margin (5-year average). The company with an uptrend profit margin has a higher rank.
••3. Consistency of the profitability
4. Piotroski F-Score
5. Predictability Rank•

The maximum rank is 10. A rank of 7 or higher means a higher profitability and may stay that way. A rank of 3 or lower indicates that the company has had trouble to make a profit.

Profitability Rank is not directly related to the Financial Strength Rank. But if a company is consistently profitable, its financial strength will be stronger.

United States Antimony Corp is engaged in production & sale of antimony, silver, gold & zeolite products. Its operations are divided into three segments: United States antimony operations, Mexican antimony operations and United States zeolite operations.

United States Antimony Corp was incorporated in Montana in January 1970. The Company is engaged in the production of mines and produces antimony products. Its business is the production and sale of antimony, silver, gold, and zeolite products. It produces antimony metal, oxide, sodium antimonite, and precious metals from its processing facility near Thompson Falls, Montana. The Company offers antimony oxide that is used in conjunction with a halogen to form a synergistic flame retardant system for plastics, rubber, fiberglass, textile goods, paints, coatings and paper. Its antimony oxide is also used as a color fastener in paint, as a catalyst for production of polyester resins for fibers and film, as a catalyst for production of polyethelene pterathalate in plastic bottles, as a phosphorescent agent in fluorescent light bulbs, and as an opacifier for porcelains. Its sodium antimonate is used as a fining agent for glass in cathode ray tubes and as a flame retardant. It sells antimony metal for use in bearings, storage batteries and ordnance. The Company obtains antimony raw material from sources in North America, Mexico, Europe, South America, Central America, and Australia. The Company is currently organized and managed by three segments, which represent its operating units; United States antimony operations, Mexican antimony operations, and United States zeolite operations. The Madero smelter and Puerto Blanco mill at the Company's Mexico operation brings antimony up to an intermediate stage, which is then shipped to the United States operation for finishing and sales at the Thompson Falls, Montana plant. The Zeolite operation produces Zeolite near Preston, Idaho. Almost all of the sales of products from the United States antimony and Zeolite operations are to customers in the United States. It currently purchases foreign raw antimony materials and producing its own raw materials from its properties in Mexico. The Company's exploration, development and production programs conducted in the United States are subject to local, state and federal regulations regarding environmental protection.
