The Company operates in two segments including Battery & Energy Products and Communications Systems. The Battery & Energy Products segment manufactures & markets products including; lithium 9-volt, cylindrical and other non-rechargeable batteries, in addition to rechargeable batteries, uninterruptable power supplies, charging systems and accessories. The Communications Systems segment design and manufacture a line of communications systems and accessories to support military communications systems including; RF amplifiers, power supplies, cable and connector assemblies, amplified speakers, equipment mounts, case equipment, man-portable systems, integrated communication systems for fixed or vehicle applications and communications and electronics systems design. The Company supplies the products & services to customers in the government, defense and commercial sectors. The Company sells products through trade channels, including original equipment manufacturers, industrial and defense supply distributors, and directly to U.S. and international defense departments. It also distributes some of its products through domestic and international distributors and retailers. The Company's brands include Ultralife Batteries, Lithium Power, McDowell Research, AMTI, and ABLE brands. It faces competition from development stage companies to domestic and international companies.
