Merck KGaA Annual Shareholders Meeting Transcript
Ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of the Supervisory and the Executive Board, I would like to warmly welcome all of you to the Jahrhunderthalle. I hereby call this Annual General Meeting of Merck KGaA to order pursuant to Section 23, Paragraph 1, Sentence 1 of the Articles of Association. I am chairing the Annual General Meeting.
First, I would like to welcome you, our shareholders and shareholder representatives. I'm pleased by the great interest you are showing in our company by participating in the AGM. I would also like to extend an equally warm welcome to the members of the Merck family and in particular, to Dr. Stangenberg-Haverkamp and Mr. Baillou, Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively of the Executive Board of E. Merck KG. Furthermore, I would like to welcome the officiating notary, [Dr. Havekwast]. He will keep the minutes of today's meeting.
