I conducted an interview with Andrew Kilpatrick author of “Of Permanent Value: The Story of Warren Buffett
” (The link is here). I consider Andrew to be one of the leading experts on Berkshire Hathaway since he has been following the company for decades. More importantly he wrote a 2000 page book on the topic which he updates quite frequently to include the latest information such as Warren Buffett's purchase of Burlington North Sante Fe.
After I finished the interview with Andrew I found an interesting CNBC interview with Andrew from last week. He discussed Todd Combs and similar topics related to Warren Buffett's successor. Andrew in both my interview and on CNBC was very positive about Combs. He was joined by someone on the interview who frankly did not sound too impressive. The person stumbled on questions, and his skepticism of Combs was warranted I just felt that the way he delivered his answers made it appear that he had little knowledge of Berkshire Hathaway.
