There is an enormous difference writing as someone who theorizes about stocks and the market and as someone who actively manages assets and writes about individual stocks, portfolio performance and investment strategies. For many years I was the former, and now I am the latter.

The ability to pontificate without a care about performance or proving your record can be quite fun. Managing millions of dollars of other peoples' money creates an entirely different feeling in your stomach.

I have been blessed to partner with long term investors who give me the latitude, time and criteria to invest in my own particular manner. Most importantly, I have a group of investors who have committed to bringing my assets under management relatively quickly to a level where I will make a hard close to avoid being forced into SEC required oversight status. I simply couldn't ask for a better group of investors.

With such growth, I've found I've had to put any extraneous work aside and focus on finding new investments, building up portfolios and providing investors with the best possible service. Additionally, I've found it increasingly difficult to write without disclosing portfolio positions, potential investment ideas or proprietary information about our holdings.

Accordingly, this will likely be my last regular article posting here on Gurufocus. Readers will continue to be able to follow some of my writings in the public areas of the Nintai Investments LLC website.

Going forward, I look forward to continue reading the high-quality content we've all become accustomed to on GuruFocus.

Keep up the quality

One of the pleasures being a consumer of content at GuruFocus has been the outstanding quality writing that can be found here on the site. There is a plethora of writers who bring ideas and concepts that provide thought-provoking articles. That quality is the cornerstone of GuruFocus's value.

Innovate

I continue to be amazed by the new content and functionality being added to the site. I can think of few other assets that provide such a breadth and depth of data. This will remain Nintai's go-to site for investment research and corporate data.

Revel in your mistakes

Some of the most fun I've had is writing about investment mistakes and oversights. The ability to break down the process and outcomes of a really cocked up investment decision can reveal tremendous insights. Not enough writers tackle these on other websites, and that's a shame. You rarely learn anything from doubling your money, but there are a lot of insights when you lose half your position.

Remain positive

One of the great aspects of this site – from day one – has been the positive interactions between readers and writers. I want to thank everyone for all the tremendous support and great feedback you've given me over the years. Treating each other with respect and dignity seems old fashioned in today's world of on-screen temper tantrums and tweet storms. But over time, people will remember you far more for your class and respectfulness than any broadside or snide attack.

Thanks again to readers for all your wonderful comments, insights and feedback over the years. You have all made me a better writer, investor and person. I look forward to continue reading the work of other writers and meeting new GuruFocus members. Feel free to send me private messages and I will get back to you as soon as I can. My best wishes for a happy and prosperous future.
