Third Avenue's David Barse On High Yield Corporate Debt and Hong Kong Property Owners

Money Manager David Barse, whose Third Avenue Management controls $16 Billion in assets, explains his strategy for managing risk in high yield corporate debt and Hong Kong real estate.

Third Avenue was founded by legendary value investor, Martin Whitman.

The company launched a Focused Credit fund last year. He commented that the high yield corporate debt market nowadays is nowhere near what it was like a year ago. The firm’s fund runs on a focused strategy instead of a diversified broad-based market strategy.

Third Avenue has been investing in Hong Kong-based property owners. Barse claimed that these are good investments based on discounted net values instead of speculations.:
