GuruFocus founder Dr. Charlie Tian went live today to speak with members and answer any questions that came up during his presentation. He showed off the new Map chart and Bubble chart that are available in the All-In-One Screener, which are the newest features to be added to GuruFocus.

The presentation started with Tian showing off the new My Account page that gives access to profile information and subscription information. Under the Subscription & Billing tab, members can add regions or Premium Plus to their membership and get a copy of their receipt for past transactions. There is also access to GuruFocus’ Affiliate Program where users can track the benefits of becoming an affiliate and helping spread GuruFocus content.
For those who regularly use the Excel Add-In and API features, Tian brought good news. GuruFocus has worked over the last several weeks to relocate these services to their own dedicated server. This should allow them to work much more efficiently and decrease load times for users.
Tian then showed off the new Map chart and Bubble chart that users can utilize to help visualize their screener results. The charts can also be configured to show a full list of S&P 500 stocks or Nasdaq 100 stocks. A full breakdown on how to use these new charts can be found here.
From there the presentation turned toward the relatively recent implementation of operating data on GuruFocus. Tian showed off how it can be used to help members develop an understanding of how a banking company works and whether or not it could be a good investment. He used several examples ranging from Comerica Inc. (CMA, Financial) to Citigroup Inc. (C, Financial).
During his time answering questions, Tian also highlighted several additional features that GuruFocus is working on that users can look forward to in the future and noted good suggestions from the audience. One feature request that came in piqued Tian’s interest as it suggested a place for users to discuss and share templates for the Excel Add-In. He made sure to pass the idea on to the development team as soon as the meeting finished.
