Senior living companies Brookdale Senior Living, Inc. (BKD, Financial) and Emeritus Corp. rose 30.9% and 24.4%, respectively, as business fundamentals improved and the industry continues to consolidate. Diversified Health Care REITs have been snapping up senior living operators at multiples that greatly exceed those of our holdings, so our stocks have been moving up in conjunction.
