The founder of the index fund Jack Bogle appeared on CNBC today with the general topic being whether the retail investor is coming back into the market. Some of his comments:
- Bogle doesn't think there is any "great rotation" and that the retail investors are headed back to equities.
- January has been a good month, but that is a fairly normal seasonal swing.
- The timing of theretail investor is traditionally bad: They pull money out at the worst time and start piling it back in after the markets have rebounded.
