This is Adam Akerson of Buckle, and this is a recording of Buckle's commentary related to the company's July 2019 sales press release.
Our August 8, 2019, press release reported the comparable store sales for stores opened at least 1 full year for the 4-week period ended August 3, 2019, decreased 0.5% in comparison to the prior year 4-week period ended August 4, 2018. Total net sales for the 4-week fiscal month decreased 0.8% to $67.5 million compared to net sales of $68 million in the prior year 4-week fiscal month ended August 4, 2018.
On the men's side of the business, total sales for the 4-week fiscal period ended August 3, 2019, were down 0.5% in comparison to the prior year 4-week period ended August 4, 2018. Men's business represented approximately 53.5% of total sales for the fiscal month versus approximately 52.5% in the prior year fiscal July. For the fiscal month, overall price points on the men's side of the business were down approximately 3%.
