He is a Managing Director at Microsoft Research, and I would consider this position a very influential one. He's been part of the research community for a long standing. He is also a recipient of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar award, which is a prestigious award. And along with, he's also a member of the ACM, IEEE and several organizations. I have the privilege of knowing Dr. Venkat since his college days at IIT Delhi. And he went on to do his MS and PhD from Berkeley, California.
