Nvidia-Backed CoreWeave Among Companies to Invest Billions in UK Data Centers

The UK government announced that CoreWeave, a cloud computing company supported by Nvidia (NVDA, Financial), will be one of the companies investing over $8 billion in UK data centers. This significant investment is set to bolster the country's infrastructure in the data center sector.

According to the UK's Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, alongside CoreWeave, other companies such as ServiceNow (NOW), CyrusOne, and CloudHQ will collectively invest $8.23 billion in this initiative. Earlier, ServiceNow had disclosed a $1.5 billion investment. Furthermore, CyrusOne plans to allocate £2.5 billion to projects expected to be operational by the last quarter of 2028. CloudHQ is set to invest £1.9 billion in a new data center in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

CoreWeave plans to channel £750 million into its AI infrastructure. Recently, CoreWeave secured a $650 million credit line from global banks to strengthen its balance sheet, highlighting its strategic focus on expanding its capabilities.
