SEATTLE, Oct. 16, 2024 — Just in time for the holidays, tech giant Amazon (AMZN, Financial) showed off its new Kindle models in two years, which includes its first color and AI-powered e-readers.
Hitting stores on October 31 with a price tag of $279.99, the Kindle Colorsoft enable users to highlight text in color along with color for photographs. It keeps the extended battery life, rapid page-turning, and auto-adjusting illumination from past iterations.
Also, Amazon also debuted its $399.99 Kindle Scribe, with deliveries expected to begin in December 4. The new model has the resemblance of writing on paper, including a paper-like display with white borders and silky texture. Moreover, AI-powered elements in the Scribe help simplify notes into readily shareable and brief bullets. Along with a three-month battery life, the revised Kindle Paperwhite comes with a much larger 7-inch display, a choice of raspberry, jade, or black finishes, and priced at $159.99, or $199.99 for the Signature Edition with 32 GB capacity.
The appeal to a wider spectrum of consumers before the Christmas season could potentially become a major long-term catalyst for the company as it looks to move ahead with its plans at an accelerated pace.
