OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently disclosed that the company is experiencing challenges in launching new products as frequently as intended due to limitations in computing power. As the complexity of AI models increases, managing multiple projects simultaneously has become difficult, particularly in terms of allocating computing resources.

To address these issues, the Microsoft-backed company is collaborating with Broadcom and TSMC to design its own chips aimed at boosting computing capacity. Altman confirmed that OpenAI does not plan to release the next major AI model, GPT-5, this year. Instead, the company aims to introduce some "very good versions" later on.

Kevin Weil, OpenAI's Chief Product Officer, highlighted the need to refine the video model Sora before a significant update can be rolled out. This involves ensuring the model's safety, accuracy in simulations, and expanding computational capabilities.

Altman also mentioned that there is no current plan to release a new version of the image model DALL-E, although the next model promises to be "worth the wait." Additionally, OpenAI refuted plans to release an AI model codenamed Orion within this year.

OpenAI has introduced an "Ask Me Anything" feature on Reddit and a new search function in ChatGPT, intensifying its competition with Alphabet's Google.

Regarding recent executive departures, Srinivas Narayanan, Vice President of Engineering, stated that while the company regrets losing some partners, it continues to have a talented team and has welcomed many new members.
