Alibaba (BABA, Financial) has made significant strides in artificial intelligence for its overseas operations, outpacing its domestic e-commerce developments. The company has launched Accio, a conversational AI search engine aimed at global businesses, marking the first AI search engine in the B2B sector globally. This innovation has been partially integrated into Alibaba's international platform's 'Find Factory' module, resulting in a reported 20%-30% increase in purchase conversion rates during its trial phase.
As of the launch date, Accio has scaled to cover billions of products. The service is currently available on both PC and WAP platforms, supporting English, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. The mobile version is still in development. The project is led by Zhang Kuo, President of Alibaba International Station, while the AI team, comprising over 400 members, is directed by Jiang Fan, Co-Chairman and CEO of Alibaba Overseas. The team is divided into B2B and B2C segments, led by Zhang Kuo and Zhang Kaifu, respectively.
