The Conference Board's Leading Economic Index (LEI) fell by 0.4% in October, missing the median forecast of a 0.3% decline. The index now stands at 99.5. This drop was within the predicted range from 28 economists, who anticipated a decline between 0.5% and 0.1%.
In the previous months, the LEI had consistently decreased by 0.3% in both September and August. Meanwhile, the Coincident Economic Index, which reflects current economic conditions, remained unchanged in both October and September.
