Amazon (AMZN, Financial) signed an agreement with Microsoft (MSFT) last year to provide Microsoft 365 Office tools to its employees. However, the rollout was paused after a hacking group gained access to employee email accounts. Amazon's Chief Information Security Officer, CJ Moses, indicated plans to redeploy the service next year.

Microsoft 365 includes cloud-based software such as Word, Outlook, and Windows. Historically, Amazon has used an Office version installed on its own servers. Both companies are working to address Amazon's security concerns regarding email and productivity software bundles.

Amazon has pledged $1 billion over five years to purchase Microsoft 365 software for its 1.5 million employees.
