Quantum Computing (QUBT, Financial) has seen significant stock price increases, with a recent surge of over 50%, following a 65% rise the previous trading day. This spike comes after the company announced a contract with NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. The project involves using the Dirac-3 quantum computer to tackle advanced imaging and data processing challenges, specifically phase unwrapping issues. This will aid NASA in reconstructing images and extracting information from radar-generated data.

Dirac-3, a commercially available quantum optimizer, differs from Google's Willow chip. It leverages quantum optics and photonics to find optimal solutions, handling up to 949 variables. This technology allows for efficient solving of complex discrete optimization problems, showcasing its potential in addressing "NP-hard" problems.
