The Kospi Index in Seoul rose by 1.6% to reach 2,442.67 points. Samsung Electronics (005930, Financial) was the largest contributor to this increase, with a gain of 1.7%. Seoul Broadcasting System experienced the most significant surge, climbing 30.0%.
Among the 842 stocks traded, 625 advanced, while 168 declined. All sectors showed positive movement, with the electrical and electronic equipment sector leading the gains.
