Several automotive companies, including Xiaomi, Xpeng, and NIO, have announced their entry into the humanoid robot sector. Xiaomi's robotics team has shared progress on their humanoid robot, CyberOne, which is being developed on their manufacturing lines. CyberOne is described as a full-sized humanoid bionic robot designed for various scenarios such as home care and companionship.
Li Auto has also expressed interest in humanoid robots, though they have not set a timeline for development. Xpeng's CEO, He Xiaopeng, previously mentioned their AI robot, Xpeng Iron, which will feature self-developed chips for large-scale models and include 15 degrees of freedom with tactile feedback-enabled hands.
Meanwhile, NIO has reportedly formed a team of around 20 people to explore a robot dog project. According to incomplete statistics, 18 automotive companies worldwide have already ventured into the humanoid robot market.
