Agilent Technologies, Inc. (A, Financial) has announced a significant reorganization of its business segments to better align with its market-focused and customer-centric strategy. This strategic move, initially announced in November 2024, involves the consolidation and realignment of several key divisions within the company.

The former Diagnostics and Genomics segment has been merged with Agilent's liquid chromatography and liquid chromatography mass spectrometry instrument platforms to create the new Life Sciences and Diagnostics Markets segment. This change aims to streamline operations and enhance the company's focus on life sciences and diagnostics.

Additionally, the chemistries and supplies, laboratory automation, and software and informatics divisions have been transitioned from the former Life Sciences and Applied Markets segment to the Agilent CrossLab segment. This shift is designed to bolster Agilent's capabilities in providing comprehensive laboratory solutions.

The remaining divisions from the former Life Sciences and Applied Markets segment, which include gas chromatography, gas chromatography mass spectrometry, remarketed instruments, spectroscopy, and vacuum divisions, will now form the new Applied Markets segment. This reorganization is expected to optimize Agilent's operations and improve its market responsiveness.

Following these changes, Agilent Technologies will operate through three primary business segments: Life Sciences and Diagnostics Markets, Agilent CrossLab, and Applied Markets. Each of these segments will function as a reportable segment, reflecting the company's commitment to enhancing its market presence and customer engagement.
