Apple has announced a delay in the release of a more personalized version of Siri, originally planned for the iOS 18.4 update. The tech giant has confirmed that the enhanced Siri will be launched "sometime next year," but no specific timeline has been provided.

According to Jacqueline Roy, an Apple spokesperson, the development of a more personalized Siri has proven to be more complex than initially anticipated. Over the past six months, Apple has been working on making Siri more conversational and has integrated features like typing to Siri and product knowledge, as well as incorporating ChatGPT. However, the complexity of personalizing Siri has pushed the release to next year.

The new generation of Siri is expected to access users' personal data, such as emails, messages, files, and photos, to better understand user needs and assist in task completion. Initially, Apple aimed to launch these features in May, but engineering challenges and software bugs have caused delays.

Currently, Apple's AI suite, known as "Apple Intelligence," is being rolled out in phases. This suite includes tools like writing aids, voicemail transcription, and custom-generated emojis called Genmoji. However, Apple's primary focus remains on integrating "LLM Siri" into its voice assistant, enabling deeper interaction with the device and app ecosystem.

If successful, this integration will transform Siri from a simple voice tool into a truly intelligent assistant capable of efficiently handling complex tasks for users.
