Apple Inc. (AAPL, Financial) has announced a delay in the release of its promised "more personalized" version of Siri. This postponement also affects the launch of the company's smart home hub, which was initially expected soon. According to Mark Gurman, the delay is due to the extended time required to develop these upgraded Siri features, which are part of the broader Apple Intelligence suite. Apple now anticipates the release within the next year.
The smart home hub, heavily reliant on Siri's new capabilities, has also been postponed. Previously, it was reported that this device might debut as early as March 2025. The smart home hub is expected to feature a 6-inch wall-mounted touch screen for video calls and smart home management, primarily operated through voice control.
Despite the delay, Apple has initiated an internal testing program, allowing employees to take the device home to gather feedback.
