I am Fumiya Kokubu, President and CEO of Marubeni. Thank you for taking the time to be here today. We reported earnings on May 10.
Key factors of the fiscal year ended March 2016. Consolidated net profit for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2016 was JPY62.3 billion. That was down JPY43.3 billion from the previous fiscal year, mainly because of the impairment losses and other extraordinary losses that we announced on April 18. This result was basically in line with our revised forecast.
Our net debt/equity ratio at fiscal year end was 1.95x, which is quite high for us. While net interest-bearing debt declined from the end of the previous fiscal year, total equity also decreased, largely because of a decrease in foreign currency translation adjustments due to the Japanese yen appreciation. This
