  • The Agent Builder platform will enable creation of custom AI tools with minimal coding expertise.

Clarivate (CLVT), a leading global provider of transformative intelligence, has announced a significant expansion of its Academic AI Platform. Starting in April 2025, Clarivate will introduce AI Agents designed to enhance academic workflows, helping researchers, students, and staff increase productivity.

The new AI Agents will be initiated with the launch of a Literature Review tool on April 10, 2025, through the Web of Science Research Assistant. Additionally, Research Intelligence capabilities will be available to development partners by August 2025. These initiatives build upon AI-powered tools that have been adopted by over 3,000 institutions globally since 2024.

One of the key components of this expansion is the development of an Agent Builder, a flexible environment requiring minimal coding expertise. This platform will allow institutions to create, customize, and deploy their own AI-powered tools, integrating them into existing digital environments such as institutional and library portals.

The Agent Builder will include features such as a prompt builder, workflow orchestration, and system connectors. This low-code/no-code interface is expected to democratize the creation of AI agents, thereby broadening the accessibility of AI technology in academia.

Additionally, the Clarivate Academic AI Platform will support community-driven AI solutions, encouraging institutions to share and collaborate. The aim is to accelerate the development of AI tools that align with academic priorities and reflect collaborative traditions in libraries.

Oren Beit-Arie, Senior Vice President of Strategy & Innovation at Clarivate, emphasized the collaborative nature of this initiative, stating that it is designed to foster an ecosystem where academic institutions can develop and share AI-powered solutions transparently and responsibly.
