Garmin (GRMN) has introduced the Varia Vue, its latest cycling accessory uniting a 600-lumen headlight with a built-in 4K camera to enhance safety for cyclists. This innovative device is engineered to automatically record and save footage when it detects an incident. Additionally, users can synchronize the Varia Vue with the Varia RCT715 radar taillight camera for dual-angle recording capabilities.
Key features of the Varia Vue include Electronic Image Stabilization for clear video capture, and five adaptive light modes that adjust according to speed and environmental conditions. Wi-Fi connectivity enables automatic video uploads to Garmin Vault, ensuring footage is securely stored. The device boasts up to 7 hours of battery life in day flash mode with camera recording, extending to 9 hours when the headlight is off. Importantly, Varia Vue can operate while charging, ideal for extended cycling sessions.
Priced at $549.99, the Varia Vue integrates easily with Garmin's Edge cycling computers for control over settings, and its concealed microphone records audio effectively. The device requires a separate memory card for recording purposes and offers a smart cutoff beam design to preserve the vision of oncoming traffic. The Varia Vue is available now and will be showcased during the Sea Otter Classic at the Garmin booth.
