These systems, developed by Comtech Satellite Networks Technologies Corp. based in Montreal, Canada, are integral to a broad Naval fleet modernization initiative.
Comtech's VSAT systems are being installed on diverse Naval platforms, including ships, submarines, and ground-based stations, providing advanced multi-orbit satellite communications (SATCOM) capabilities. Utilizing Comtech's ELEVATE software-defined technology, these systems feature IP traffic optimization for reduced SATCOM delays, mesh capabilities for decreased transmission latency, and spread spectrum techniques to alleviate interference.
The systems were selected for full-rate production after undergoing extensive testing and validation by the end customer. Delivery will continue over a two-year period, ensuring a steady revenue stream for Comtech, which boasts a market capitalization of approximately $39.5 million.
