Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) has integrated WTW's (WTW, Financial) Neuron digital trading platform to enable real-time trading of Directors & Officers (D&O) and Cyber risks. This marks a significant milestone in WTW’s strategy to digitize complex specialty risks, offering streamlined processes that enhance efficiency across the insurance value chain.

LSM's capacity on Neuron became available as of March 31, 2025, focusing initially on D&O and Cyber risks. The Neuron platform connects brokers and insurers seamlessly, facilitating quicker market transactions and providing brokers with the ability to find optimal products and pricing efficiently. This real-time connection reduces the traditionally slow placement timelines in specialty insurance to mere minutes or hours.

WTW has planned further expansion of Neuron, with additional classes and partners set to join throughout 2025. This expansion aims to reinforce the platform’s ecosystem approach, which maintains participants' control over key assets while promoting transparency and consistency in trading. By automating follow-insurance trading, Neuron allows insurers to allocate their underwriting expertise to more complex risks.

Carol Baker from LSM emphasized that this digital trading capability underscores LSM’s commitment to expanding its digital footprint, making the risk placement process faster and more flexible for brokers. Louise Smith, the Global Lead for Neuron at WTW, highlighted that the partnership with LSM bolsters shared objectives of expanding digital and data capabilities within the specialty insurance market.

WTW's Neuron platform, which is a key component of the company’s digital transformation journey, positions it at the forefront of market digitization, particularly in a segment that has been traditionally resistant to technological change. As the platform grows, its network effects are expected to increase its value to users, creating a competitive advantage and potential new revenue streams for WTW.
