General Motors (GM, Financial) announced adjustments at its all-electric Factory Zero in Detroit, leading to temporary layoffs. Approximately 200 workers will be affected as the company aligns production with current market dynamics. The decision is reportedly unrelated to recent automotive tariffs.
Factory Zero is responsible for producing the Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, the electric Hummer SUV and pickup, and the all-electric Escalade IQ. The facility employs about 4,500 people, according to the company's website.
