- Actelis Networks (ASNS, Financial) secures a follow-on order from the City of Eugene for traffic management system modernization.
- The order enhances Eugene's previous deployment of Actelis' hybrid fiber-copper solutions from February 2023.
- The collaboration with Western Systems facilitates immediate fiber-grade connectivity over existing infrastructure.
Actelis Networks, Inc. (ASNS) has received a follow-on order from the City of Eugene, Oregon to expand its traffic management system using additional networking equipment. This initiative builds on an earlier deployment of Actelis' hybrid fiber-copper networking solutions, which commenced in February 2023. The City of Eugene, the second-largest city in Oregon, is home to the University of Oregon and has set ambitious goals to enhance its transportation infrastructure.
The expansion supports Eugene's Transportation Management Plan, aiming to triple transit rates through walking, cycling, and public transport by 2035. Actelis' solutions will integrate with traffic controllers to manage traffic flow, utilizing various IoT devices, including cameras and radar detection sensors, ensuring secure live data transmission to the city's operations center.
The equipment will be supplied through Actelis' partner, Western Systems, which collaborates with city, state, and county agencies across the western United States. This partnership ensures immediate fiber-grade connectivity over the current infrastructure with a future path towards full fiber implementation.
Tuvia Barlev, Chairman and CEO of Actelis, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing value brought to Eugene's intelligent transportation initiatives, highlighting the practical and cost-effective approach offered by Actelis in traffic modernization efforts. This project further illustrates the growing adoption of Actelis' technology by municipalities looking to improve traffic efficiency while maximizing existing infrastructure investments.
