- Successful completion of hull optimization enables flexible battery configurations for electric boats.
- Exclusive supply agreement with German boatbuilder STERK, moving towards sea trials.
- Strategic advancement in Vision Marine's position in the premium boat segment.
Vision Marine Technologies Inc. (VMAR, Financial), a leader in electric marine propulsion systems, has announced a significant milestone achieved with German boatbuilder STERK. The duo has successfully completed the internal hull optimization for the integration of Vision Marine’s E-Motion™ 180E high-voltage electric propulsion system.
This collaboration has resulted in a revamped internal configuration of STERK vessels, enabling them to accommodate three to four high-voltage battery packs. This is applicable for both single and dual outboard applications, underscoring STERK's technical proficiency and commitment to electric propulsion integration.
The achievement is pivotal in an exclusive supply agreement between Vision Marine and STERK. The next steps involve complete system integration and sea trials set to commence in the upcoming month, followed by certification and commercial rollout.
This development marks a crucial step in Vision Marine's strategy to lead in the electric marine propulsion market, particularly in premium segments. The partnership aims to blend STERK's precision engineering skills with Vision Marine's advanced electric propulsion technology to deliver high-performance electric boats on a large scale.
“This collaboration has produced a purpose-built hull configuration tailored for high-performance electric propulsion,” said Alexandre Mongeon, Co-founder and CEO of Vision Marine Technologies. “It represents tangible execution on our partnership with STERK and underscores the scalability and commercial viability of the E-Motion™ platform in premium boat segments.”
