AMC Theatres (AMC) has successfully completed a multi-million dollar renovation project at two of its flagship locations in New York City, AMC Empire 25 and AMC Lincoln Square 13. The seven-month project, finished on April 14, 2025, included the installation of over 4,000 new AMC Club Rocker seats, which feature a 23% increase in width and leather-like plush material for enhanced comfort. These theaters are now among the first three in the U.S. to offer these wider seats, alongside AMC Burbank 16 in Los Angeles.
The renovations at Lincoln Square 13 not only included the new seating but also added up to 10 inches of additional legroom in most auditoriums, coupled with upgraded speakers and new flooring. Both locations now also feature Laser at AMC projection, ensuring better brightness and color contrast for movie presentations. The addition of premium formats such as IMAX, Dolby Cinema, and PRIME at AMC further enhances the viewing experience at these top-performing theaters.
AMC Chairman and CEO Adam Aron highlighted the improvements, stating that the upgrades have led to significantly improved guest satisfaction scores. The timing of the renovations is strategic, aligning with the approach of the summer blockbuster season, traditionally a peak period for theater attendance. AMC is considering similar upgrades at other high-traffic locations, indicating a focused investment in enhancing customer experience where it can generate maximum impact.
