Galleon Gold Corp (TSXV: GGO) has embarked on the initial phases of its advanced exploration development, the Bulk Sample project, at the wholly-owned West Cache Gold Project in Timmins, Ontario. The company has secured a Permit to Remove Forest Resources, marking the commencement of timber harvesting activities on the site. Caron Equipment Ltd., based in Timmins, has been awarded the contract for these operations. Part of the harvested timber will be utilized for on-site construction, while the surplus will be directed towards the lumber industry.
In preparation for the next steps, Galleon Gold has delegated the completion of Issued for Construction drawings and the drafting of detailed Requests for Proposal (RFP) to Knight Piésold Ltd. This includes planning for the box cut, pond, and water management systems, projected for release in June 2025. Furthermore, J.L. Richards and Associates Ltd. are tasked with the definitive design and RFP processes for the high voltage and secondary electrical distribution lines at the project site.
To ensure comprehensive development, Galleon Gold is processing several permit applications, including Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA), which encompasses air, noise, waste, and industrial sewage management, as well as the Permit to Take Water (PTTW), regulating both surface water use and dewatering of underground mine workings.
The project is anticipated to unfold over the next 12-18 months, as Galleon Gold aims to provide regular updates throughout this exploration and development phase.
