- Zentek (ZTEK, Financial) successfully completed corrosion prevention testing for ZenARMOR™.
- Zentek announced a new collaboration with Jazeera Paints to test ZenARMOR™ in different regions.
- Tests followed ASTM industry standards and showed no coating defects in aluminum alloy protection.
Zentek Ltd. (NASDAQ: ZTEK) has announced the successful completion of its Innovative Solutions Canada Testing Stream contract for ZenARMOR™ nano-pigment technology. Conducted between September 2023 and July 2024, the testing involved military-grade, chromate-free corrosion protection aerospace paint systems manufactured by PPG Industries and Akzo Nobel. The rigorous evaluation followed ASTM B117 and ASTM D5894 standards, including 2,016 hours of corrosion testing, with no substrate corrosion or coating defects observed.
The tests demonstrated ZenARMOR™'s effectiveness in inhibiting corrosion of the aluminum alloy AA2024-T3. However, control samples showcased similar performance levels, prompting the National Research Council of Canada to recommend further testing under less optimized conditions to better assess ZenARMOR™'s standalone capabilities.
In addition to completing the testing stream, Zentek has launched a new collaboration with Jazeera Paints, a leading paint company in the Gulf Cooperation Council and Middle East and North Africa regions, signed on January 13, 2025. The partnership aims to explore the use of ZenARMOR™ nano-pigments in Jazeera's current product lines. This strategic collaboration seeks to address unique regional corrosion challenges such as extreme heat and humidity variations, potentially expanding Zentek's market reach.
