  • Vishay Intertechnology (VSH, Financial) introduces 27 new rectifiers with industry-leading current ratings.
  • The DFN33A package offers a 44% smaller footprint than conventional packages.
  • Automotive Grade, AEC-Q101 qualified versions are available with 8-week lead times.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (VSH) has unveiled 27 new surface-mount rectifiers housed in the compact DFN33A package, featuring wettable flanks. The new lineup includes standard rectifiers with current ratings up to 6A and Trench MOS Barrier Schottky (TMBS®) devices with industry-leading current ratings reaching 9A.

The DFN33A package boasts a 3.3mm x 3.3mm footprint, reducing the size by 44% compared to the conventional SMB package and by 20% contrasted with the eSMP® SMPA package. This package not only extends support across substantial voltage ranges—spanning 60V to 200V for TMBS rectifiers and up to 600V for standard rectifiers—but also allows high-temperature operation up to +175°C.

These components are optimally designed for diverse applications including commercial, industrial, telecom, and automotive sectors. Applications range from DC/DC converters and freewheeling diodes to PoE equipment. Notably, the Automotive Grade versions have achieved AEC-Q101 qualification and are immediately available for sampling, featuring an eight-week lead time.

Vishay's introduction of these rectifiers in the DFN33A package represents a significant advancement in scaling down component size while maintaining high performance, ideal for space-constrained applications such as telecom infrastructure and automotive systems. The wettable flanks facilitate automated optical inspection, streamlining manufacturing processes by reducing the need for costly X-ray inspection.
