Ford Motor Company is recalling 148,266 vehicles in the U.S. market. Of these, 123,611 vehicles, including the 2017-2018 Ford F-150, Ford Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator models, are being recalled due to a potential brake fluid leak that could impair braking function. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has identified a risk where brake fluid may leak from the front wheel circuit into the brake booster, potentially extending braking distances and increasing collision risk. Ford has not reported any accidents or injuries related to this issue. Affected owners can have their vehicles serviced at Ford or Lincoln dealerships to replace the brake cylinder and booster if necessary.

Additionally, 24,655 vehicles, specifically the 2025 Ford Explorer, are being recalled due to a software glitch that could lead to powertrain failure. The NHTSA noted that a software error might cause the powertrain control module to reset, possibly engaging the parking pawl unexpectedly and damaging the system. Ford discovered this software issue in mid-2024 and has since updated the software in vehicles produced after September 6. Owners can have their software updated at dealerships, and Ford will compensate those who have already paid for repairs.
