Gold Terra Resource Corp. (YGTFF) has made a pivotal advancement in their exploration endeavors by intersecting the Campbell Shear (CS) at the Con Mine Option property. This recent drilling achievement occurred between 2,665 to 2,707 metres downhole, with a vertical depth reaching 2,560 metres below the surface. The most promising mineralization was detected between 2,689.30 and 2,707 metres, showcasing potentially valuable quartz veins containing up to 2% pyrite and 1% pyrrhotite. Core samples have been dispatched to the lab, with assay results pending.
The drilling initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance the initial Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) from September 2022, which identified 109,000 Indicated ounces and 432,000 Inferred ounces of contained gold, situated between the surface and 400 metres depth. Continuing the effort, a new lateral wedge hole, GTCM25-056B, is currently underway, located 100 metres north at the same target elevation to further survey the mineral potential.
Additionally, Gold Terra has met its commitment to incur C$8,000,000 in qualifying expenditures for exploration on the Con Mine Option property. This financial milestone is crucial under the Con Mine Option agreement and supports ongoing efforts to extensively explore high-grade gold zones, particularly the prolific Campbell Shear, historically known for yielding substantial gold deposits.
Underlining the significance of this exploration, CEO Gerald Panneton conveyed enthusiasm about intersecting the CS well below the historic Robertson Shaft, highlighting the project's potential depth expansion. Through these targeted drilling programs, Gold Terra aims to reinstate the Yellowknife region as a principal gold mining hub, leveraging historical mining insights and modern exploration techniques.
