BAE Systems has been chosen by the U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command to develop a sophisticated satellite command and control solution for the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) program. This system, FORGE C2, will be essential in managing the Space Force's Next-Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared missile warning satellites. Additionally, the Space Based Infrared System already in orbit will be integrated into FORGE C2.
The FORGE C2 initiative involves utilizing BAE Systems' software to bring together various satellite management functions, such as telemetry, tracking and command, flight dynamics, mission management, and ground resource management into a unified system. This integration aims to streamline operations, cut down on expenses related to operations and maintenance, decrease the need for extensive training, and offer flexibility for upcoming missile warning endeavors. The effort is designed to provide a cohesive command and control framework for the Space Force's missile warning satellite operators.
