AMC Theatres® (AMC), the world's largest theatrical exhibitor, has revealed its inaugural XL at AMC auditoriums in Kansas City, enhancing the cinematic experience for moviegoers. This new Extra-Large Format (XLF) is being launched at AMC DINE-IN Studio 28 in Olathe, Kansas, and AMC DINE-IN Prairiefire 17 in Overland Park, Kansas, as part of the company's commitment to enhancing the moviegoing experience under the AMC Go Plan.
The XL at AMC auditoriums are designed with movie fans in mind, featuring expansive screens that are at least 40 feet wide alongside 4K Laser projection systems powered by Barco. These cutting-edge features make it easier for guests to enjoy the latest blockbusters in both 2D and 3D formats on larger-than-life screens.
AMC plans to roll out up to 50 such auditoriums nationwide by 2025, ensuring accessible large-screen options in theatres that lack Premium Large Format (PLF) screens. Each XL at AMC auditorium will come with easily identifiable branding and an online showtime designation, simplifying the ticket booking process for audiences looking for an enhanced viewing experience.
