  • Keysight Technologies (KEYS, Financial) collaborates with Intel Foundry on EMIB-T silicon bridge technology for AI and data center applications.
  • The collaboration supports emerging interconnect standards, enhancing chiplet design flexibility and accelerating semiconductor innovation.
  • The initiative aims to reduce development costs and mitigate risks in high-performance packaging solutions.

Keysight Technologies, Inc. (KEYS) has announced a strategic collaboration with Intel Foundry to support the development of Embedded Multi-die Interconnect Bridge-T (EMIB-T) technology. This innovative project targets enhancements in high-performance packaging solutions crucial for artificial intelligence (AI) and data center markets. The collaboration is designed to handle the growing complexity of AI and data center workloads, ensuring reliable communication and power efficiency between chiplets and 3DICs.

Through the integration of standards such as Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express™ 2.0 (UCIe™ 2.0) and the Open Compute Project's Bunch of Wires (BoW), this collaboration aims to address the challenges of high-speed data transfer and efficient power delivery. By adopting and verifying these protocols, Keysight and Intel Foundry are contributing to a more robust chiplet interoperability ecosystem, ultimately aiming to reduce development costs and mitigate risks while accelerating innovation in semiconductor design.

Suk Lee, VP & GM of Ecosystem Technology Office at Intel Foundry, highlighted the collaboration's importance in advancing chiplet design flexibility to meet the demands of next-generation AI and data center applications. Similarly, Niels Faché, Vice President and General Manager of Keysight’s Design Engineering Software, emphasized the role of Keysight EDA's Chiplet PHY Designer in redefining pre-silicon validation, enabling faster and more accurate verification processes before manufacturing.

Keysight will showcase its EMIB-T workflow, featuring Intel Foundry's EMIB-T technology, at the Intel Foundry Direct Connect event in San Jose on April 29th, demonstrating its commitment to advancing system-level link performance and compliance.
