The company's revenue for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, increased by 16.7% to $6.018 billion, compared to $5.159 billion in the same period of the previous year. This substantial growth was partly due to the performance of WM Healthcare Solutions and strong operational execution across the board.
Adjusted operating EBITDA rose by 12.2%, reaching $1.715 billion in Q1 2025 compared to $1.528 billion in Q1 2024. The WM Legacy Business recorded a 6.0% growth in adjusted operating EBITDA, maintaining a margin of 30% for the fourth consecutive quarter. The company reported a net income of $637 million, translating to a diluted EPS of $1.58, slightly down from $708 million and $1.75, respectively, from a year earlier.
WM's healthcare segment, WM Healthcare Solutions, delivered $95 million in adjusted operating EBITDA, marking its first full quarter as part of WM following the acquisition of Stericycle. The integration efforts are advancing well, keeping the company on track to achieve its full-year synergy targets. Besides, WM added two key recycling automation projects during the quarter, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability growth investments.
Looking ahead, WM remains focused on operational efficiency and maximizing growth opportunities through strategic investments and acquisitions. The company also reported a free cash flow of $475 million, aligning with its expectations, despite higher cash interest related to the Stericycle acquisition.
