Silvaco (NASDAQ: SVCO) has announced a strategic partnership with Professor Jin Jang and the Advanced Display Research Center at Kyung Hee University in South Korea. This four-year collaboration, initiated on February 1, 2025, aims to advance display technology innovation through the application of AI-driven Digital Twin modeling, focusing on Micro-LED and OLED technologies.
Through this partnership, Silvaco will fund Ph.D. students and collaborate on research that combines experimental data from KHU with Silvaco's suite of simulation tools, including Victory TCAD™, Victory DoE™, Victory Analytics™, SmartSpice™, and UTMOST IV™. The integration of these tools is designed to create comprehensive Digital Twins that model the entire manufacturing stack from process to device to circuit levels, aiming for faster optimization cycles and improved manufacturing efficiencies.
Professor Jin Jang emphasized the potential impact of this collaboration, stating that the ability to bridge physical experimentation with virtual modeling could lead to "faster, more accurate decision-making in fabs." As part of the collaboration, Silvaco is leveraging its FTCO™ platform to enhance the capabilities of fab engineers, enabling real-time simulation of process variations and their impacts on device and circuit performance.
Although the partnership does not disclose specific financial terms, it represents a strategic R&D investment for Silvaco, aiming for future innovations in display manufacturing. This initiative aligns with the semiconductor industry's trend towards virtual modeling and simulation refinement to reduce physical prototyping cycles and accelerate technology development.
