Hazer Group has entered into a significant alliance with Kellogg Brown and Root (KBR, Financial) to advance the commercialization of its methane pyrolysis technology. Under this partnership, KBR will hold the exclusive rights to market, license, and deploy Hazer's technology across the ammonia and methanol sectors globally. Furthermore, both companies will explore licensing opportunities in broader hydrogen markets.

Over an initial six-year period, with an extension option based on performance, KBR and Hazer will collaborate to upscale, market, and license Hazer's innovative technology for commercial use. This partnership includes developing a design package for facilities aiming to produce over 50,000 tonnes of hydrogen annually. Additionally, KBR will invest around A$3.0 million in the program, which is anticipated to cost between A$3.0 and A$5.0 million.

The alliance is structured to attain multiple licensing commitments during its term, with a shared incentive for KBR upon securing the first commercial unit license within three years. While Hazer maintains ownership of its intellectual property, the agreement allows termination if performance targets are unmet. As of now, no client agreements have been finalized, minimizing immediate financial implications. Details regarding royalty and licensing fees will be disclosed as licenses are confirmed.
