- Babcock & Wilcox (BW, Financial) to utilize proceeds from asset sale for hydrogen technology.
- BrightLoop™ projects signed with Kanadevia Inova for waste and biomass use.
- Massillon facility to produce up to five tons-per-day of hydrogen.
Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises, Inc. (BW) has announced its intention to allocate part of the proceeds from the sale of its Denmark subsidiary, Babcock & Wilcox A/S, to develop the BrightLoop™ hydrogen production facility in Massillon, Ohio. This initiative underscores the company's commitment to advancing its proprietary energy technology, which leverages iron-oxide TranspO2rt™ particles to produce hydrogen efficiently.
In collaboration with Kanadevia Inova, B&W aims to enhance the deployment of its BrightLoop technology globally. Notably, the Massillon facility is set to produce between three to five tons of hydrogen daily, while also capturing carbon dioxide for storage. This development aligns with global efforts to harness alternative energy sources and optimize carbon capture solutions.
Additionally, B&W and Kanadevia Inova have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore cooperative development of BrightLoop projects utilizing waste and biomass as feedstocks. This partnership highlights the potential for waste-to-energy innovations, further cementing B&W's role in the transition towards sustainable energy solutions.
