- SLB (SLB, Financial) launches Electris™, a new digitally enabled electric well completions technology.
- Electris aims to maximize production and recovery, reducing intervention costs.
- Over 100 installations globally, enhancing production in complex reservoirs.
Global energy technology company SLB (SLB) has introduced Electris™, a new suite of digitally enabled electric well completions technologies designed to boost production and recovery while reducing asset ownership costs. This introduction marks a significant advancement in well completions tech, with a focus on improving reservoir management through digitalization.
Electris completions provide real-time production intelligence across reservoirs, enabling operators to predict, adapt, and respond to dynamic production conditions with greater confidence. Paul Sims, President of Production Systems at SLB, highlighted that this technology allows operators to gain more from their assets with fewer costly well interventions, crucial for addressing the complexities of today's reservoirs.
To date, more than 100 Electris technologies have been installed across five countries. Notably, in Norway, Electris was deployed offshore to augment oil production in an extended-reach well. The system's intelligence aids in identifying production-contributing zones, optimizing oil output, and reducing water production. This reduction in water production has concurrently decreased the energy required for water treatment and reinjection into the reservoir, showcasing Electris's potential to shift production economics favorably.
The launch announcement was made at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas. For further details about SLB's Electris technologies, interested parties are encouraged to visit their website.
