SiTime Corporation (SITM), a leader in precision timing technology, has unveiled Symphonic™, its first mobile clock generator equipped with an integrated MEMS resonator. This innovative product is set to revolutionize timing solutions in mobile and IoT devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and asset trackers. Symphonic™ aims to tap into a $2 billion served addressable market (SAM) over the subsequent five years, highlighting its substantial commercial potential.
Symphonic™ (SiT30100) promises superior thermal resilience in a compact form factor. It combines the functionality of up to four separate timing devices, thus simplifying system design and conserving space on circuit boards. The device's integrated temperature sensor facilitates exceptional stability, crucial for enhanced GPS accuracy and reduced lock time.
Key features of the Symphonic™ clock generator include: 4-output capabilities providing 76.8 MHz, 38.4 MHz, or 19.2 MHz for diverse applications, an integrated MEMS resonator that abolishes the need for external components, and a high-precision temperature-to-digital converter. This combination ensures frequency stability as low as ±0.5 ppm, making it a formidable solution against thermal and mechanical stresses.
With an operational temperature range from -30°C to +90°C, the Symphonic™ clock generator is designed to deliver dynamic stability and optimize system power usage, mitigating electromagnetic interference. The new release by SiTime (SITM, Financial) is now available for integration into next-generation mobile devices, signaling a significant advancement in precision timing technology.
