Lightpath, a leading all-fiber connectivity provider, has unveiled plans for a significant expansion of its Miami network, aiming to include the Hollywood Cable Landing Station. This ambitious development project is set for completion by late 2025, and it will extend Lightpath's AI-grade fiber infrastructure to over 80-route miles within the Miami metropolitan region. This expansion is highlighted by the establishment of a 100% underground network, enhancing reliability and resilience against the elements.

The expanded network will connect 12 critical data centers in the Miami area, offering high-capacity connectivity solutions, including dark fiber and wavelength services with capacities up to 800 Gbps. This strategic move is part of Lightpath's commitment to addressing traditionally underserved digital infrastructure markets by providing scalable and flexible solutions tailored for AI and Cloud technologies.

The company’s broader network currently connects to over 170 data centers and seven additional cable landing stations located in the New York and New Jersey areas. This Miami expansion is aligned with Lightpath's strategy to support the ever-increasing data demands driven by AI adoption and cloud computing, highlighting the company's focus on developing large-scale, robust infrastructure across various U.S. geographies.

Lightpath's CEO, Chris Morley, emphasized the project's importance, stating, "Lightpath is dedicated to delivering large-scale, massive capacity networks, addressing complex connectivity requirements across multiple markets." The partnership with a strategic anchor customer signifies a significant step in securing guaranteed revenue streams, which will aid in justifying the capital expenditure while mitigating deployment risks.

Lightpath, jointly owned by Altice USA (ATUS, Financial) and Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, continues to establish itself as a pivotal player in the telecommunications landscape, offering unparalleled performance, reliability, and security through its advanced fiber-optic network.
