SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won has issued a public apology following a significant data breach at SK Telecom, which compromised sensitive information of over 25 million users. The breach, discovered on April 18, involved a large-scale hack targeting user Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM) data.

In response to the incident, SK Telecom has decided to replace USIM cards for all affected customers, including 2 million budget phone users, at no cost. This measure aims to prevent further losses and restore user trust. The company is taking steps to enhance its cybersecurity measures to avoid future breaches.
